Metro Manila has really been coming alive these past years, and we don’t just mean with the buildings, restaurants, and the abundance of leisurely activities. The art scene has been thriving, too, and has been becoming a part of the Pinoy’s life more and more everyday as well. Graffiti and art installations keep popping up around the metro, adding a splash of fun and color to the otherwise monotonous daily commutes of Manileños around the city.

6. These jolly-looking street dividers
Commuting and traveling within Manila can be quite the mood buster, especially on rush hours and during bad-traffic days. One of those days? Just take a look at these colorful road concrete barriers painted with different faces to lighten up the mood! Aren’t they cute?

5. These parking lot wall art
In this mall parking lot, the posts are painted with colorful, eye-catching art. It’s summer after all when we all need something refreshing to look at to energize our days. Themes differ each floor—there’s one level with fruits, another with sea creatures. And they’re quite useful, too—in case you forget where you parked your car, these painted posts can show you the way! Are you parked next to the peach or the cherry?

4. This pretty flower art in full bloom
Perhaps the restroom is the last place you’d expect to see an art installation, but this mall likes to take things up a notch. In Uptown Mall, you can actually find comfort in one of their posh comfort rooms, especially with the sight of these pretty painted flowers in full bloom. Just in time. It’s spring, after all.

2. These super cute Minion standpipes
Firefighting is made fun, when some imaginative artists turned these wet and dry standpipes into Minion eyes. Just take a look at how cute they are! One looks frazzled, while the other looks happily confused—but for passersby, this sight definitely calls for a photo op. It’s definitely Instagram-worthy!

1. This cool 3D pedestrian lane
Street art brings McKinley Hill alive with this cool installation! A mundane task such as crossing the street is made fun with this 3D painted pedestrian lane. Are these pedestrians crossing over elevated blocks??? It kind of looks like it!

BONUS: These flowery stairs
We’re putting this one as a bonus item because, technically, it’s not really in Manila. But we think it’s really pretty that it deserves a shout-out anyway! Plus, being only two hours away from the Metro and the fact that’s it’s a favorite weekend destination anyway, here’s another street art you might like. Spotted in Tagaytay are these stairs painted with lovely flowers that makes you feel as if you’re walking through a garden.
