The NBA Star announced his retirement November last year. The announcement came from The Players’ Tribune website that he will retire after this season, writing that “this season is all I have left to give,” ESPN.go reported.

Kobe Bryant

Kobe helped the Lakers win five NBA championships over a 20-year career. Apart from being known as the “Black Mamba” he also received NBA MVP, five NBA championships with the Lakers, two Olympic gold medals, and incredible work ethics.

Sadly, heroes get tired too. Earlier today was his last game for his team and everyone had a meltdown. Everyone will definitely miss the #24 in the court.

The hashtag #ThankYouKobe became viral. Even Manila Mayor, Joseph Ejercito Estrada, joined the unstoppable social media meltdown by posting his throwback photo of Kobe Bryant and him.

Filipinos love basketball. It runs in our blood, so to speak. Every corner, every street in Manila has a man-made basketball court.

Thank You Kobe for the best moments in basketball history! We will surely miss you!
