The world mourned when it was announced that basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter passed away after the helicopter they were riding in crashed in Calabasas, California.

One of the people mourning is bestselling author Paulo Coelho, who revealed that the two were supposed to collaborate on a book.

On Twitter, Paulo wrote a touching tribute that included plans of a book. He said, “You were more than a great player, dear Kobe Bryant. I learned a lot by interacting with you. Will delete the draft right now, this book has lost its reason.”

He then added a screenshot of a conversation he had with the basketball player. Kobe said, “Let’s write that book together,” to which Paulo replied, “anytime.”

The tome may not have materialized but Kobe has written The Mamba Mentality: How I Play, which was released in 2018.

Paulo is a Brazilian author known for his books The Alchemist, Eleven Minutes, By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept, and more.
