His name is Harry and when I met him years ago, he had both arms intact. I returned to Baler a couple of months back and was surprised to find him, looking the same minus one arm. He told me casually that it was from a car accident. And in my head, I was just grateful he survived.
Then I saw him surf. It reminded me of another idol, Bethany Hamilton, who lost an arm to a shark attack while surfing, but she still rips as hard as any pro surfer does today. Harry is the same. He rips on his short board with one arm. So the next time life throws you a big wave, think like Harry, and get back up and ride it through.
