A lucky Filipina singer was chosen among the twenty people from different parts of the world to celebrate Facebook’s 12th year “Friends Day,” held at the Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, California.
Abby Asistio is one of the lucky ones who was able to meet and greet the inspiring Internet entrepreneur and Philanthropist, Facebook CEO himself, Mark Zuckerberg. Abby is a singer-songwriter and an alopecia awareness advocate, Manila Bulletin confirms.
If you have been following Zuckerberg in Facebook, he urged people to share their stories “celebrating friendships that have made a difference in your life” last January 12.
By good luck, Abby was chosen due to her inspiring and outstanding story of her battling Alopecia.
Alopecia areata usually begins when clumps of hair fall out, resulting in totally smooth, round hairless patches on the scalp. Abby was diagnosed with the said disease 25 years ago.

So… I got to meet Mark Zuckerberg today!!!????❤️ I had the opportunity of being chosen as one of 20 invited by Facebook for their 12th Anniversary#FriendsDay event with Rachel Regal because of our #Alopecia story. I met Rachel through the double A#AlopeciaAwareness hand sign campaign which I started in 2012, and we’ve been “connected” ever since.???? Last year, Facebook Stories featured how we were able to build a friendship, as well as campaign for disease awareness through Facebook! AND TODAY — We had the chance to tour their headquarters in Menlo Park, San Francisco, meet and chat with the people behind Facebook (Founder & CEO Mark Zuckerberg, COO Sheryl Sanders, CPO Chris Cox, and a whole lot of awesome people), get crazy cool gadgets and have one of the most wonderful, amazing, unexpected experiences of our lives.❤️ (Inhale, exhale).
