The family of the 17-year-old whom Ellen Adarna has accused of taking “paparazzi photos’ of her at a ramen restaurant in Makati has decided to take legal action since the 30-year-old actress failed to issue a public apology, or even a statement after the teen’s mother uploaded her open letter to Adarna on her Facebook account.

According to Smart Parenting, a family member and representative confirmed to the said website that the family “has filed a case against the actress for child abuse, cybercrime, and libel this morning at the office of the city prosecutor of the Pasig City Hall”.

As of writing, no further statement has been given by both parties.

A portion of the open letter written by Myra Abo Santos, the mother of the 17-year-old, asked Adarna to issue a public apology to her daughter. She also added that she is given a period of five days after posting to do so.

“Should you fail or refuse to do so, we will not hesitate to take the appropriate legal actions necessary under the circumstances, to protect and uphold [her] best interest.”
