LOOK: Claire Danes’ Met Gala Dress Lights Up in the Dark

The annual Costume Institute Gala, popularly known as the Met Gala, is one of the most important events in the global fashion calendar. The event is so exclusive that even if it has been held since 1946, Kim Kardashian was only invited to it starting 2013.

The gala marks the launch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute’s exhibition, and this year’s theme is Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology. Traditionally, guests wear clothes related to the theme, so this year saw a lot of metals and futuristic looks.

Actress Claire Danes managed to look both sweet and futuristic in her choice of gown. American designer Zac Posen designed a dress that was literally lit.

The sky-blue ball gown is made from organza and fiber optics, which lit up when it was dark.
