There are those people who forget their roots as soon as they experience success. They forget about the people who helped them in their time of need. Sometimes they even deny their humble beginnings. While these people are successful, they are not the people we envy. We admire those who remember all those who helped them climb the ladder to success. Who are they usually? The family.
One good example is Khanittha “Mint” Phasaeng, the winner of Miss Uncensored News Thailand 2015. After bagging the crown, she decides to thank her mother in the most touching way. She is seen bowing, in complete pageant regalia, to her mom in front of trash bins. The mom supported her daughter by collecting and recycling trash, which Mint also did.
In Thailand, bowing is the highest form of respect one can give to another.
According to Mint, “What I have today is because of my mother. She and I make a living by doing honest work, so there is no reason why I should feel inferior.”
