2016 has been a sad year for entertainment. After losing beloved actor Alan Rickman and rock icon David Bowie, we are saddened to hear the passing of Prince. He was 57.
Prince was found dead early Thursday morning at his Paisely Park home and studios in Minnesota, according to entertainment reports. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, but there is no reported evidence of foul play as of the moment.
On April 15th, Prince experienced a medical emergency that forced his private jet to make an emergency landing in Illinois. He reportedly showed up at his concert the next day, however, reassuring fans that he was fine.
Prince was a multi-awarded performer, having won seven Grammy Awards and earned 30 nominations. He also took home an Oscar for best original song score for “Purple Rain”. A beloved musical legend, his music has remained timeless throughout the decades, and is credited for creating the Minneapolis sound.
The world will truly miss you, Prince. May you rest in peace.
