Kevin Durant’s Oklahoma Restaurant Closes After Joining Golden State Warriors

KD’s Southern Cuisine in Oklahoma City is closing after its namesake, 3 weeks after Kevin Durant announced his move to the Golden State Warriors.

With good reason, KD’s closed its doors after the player’s decision with immediate plans to rebrand in store.

I heard awesome reviews. Dinner time! #WheresDurant #OklahomaTrip

According to its Google description, KD’s serves “upscale versions of down-home dishes served in a contemporary dining space with basketball decor.”

The Hal Smith restaurant group, which operates the KD restaurant, will reopen soon with a new theme. In a statement, founder Hal Smith said:

“It has been an honor—and a lot of fun—to partner with Kevin Durant at Kd’s these last few years. We wish him the very best as he takes a new direction in his career.”

It is not known whether Durant, who reportedly owns 25 percent of the restaurant, will maintain his shares after the move.
