It’s another win for Kelsey Merritt, who became the first Filipina to walk the Victoria’s Secret runway show: her makeup routine was featured on Vogue‘s Beauty Secrets, a series of videos where celebrities share their skincare regimen.
In her video, Merritt does the makeup that won her the historic casting. According to her, “I wanted to bring out my best qualities—not cover them up.”

She begins her routine with sunblock, a light moisturizer, and coconut oil for her arms and her neck. For her hair, she uses aloe from her very own plant. She also rubs her lips with a wet towel before applying lip balm.
For her makeup, Merritt prefers the natural look, starting with a liquid-based foundation that’s a shade darker to make her look sun-kissed. However, she doesn’t cover her freckles since she says that’s her favorite part of her face. She then uses the standard shimmering stick, concealer, blush, bronzer, highlighter, eyeshadow, and mascara to keep up her “no makeup makeup” look. She caps off her routine with a hydrating beauty elixir and nude lipstick.
The result: a gorgeous look that’s perfect for the runway.
