It was a day full of Kawaii Japanese stuff all around Whitespace, Makati last September 6 for the first ever convention for Japanophiles: the Kawaii in Manila 2!

A brainchild of the Kawaii Philippines Team, a group of individuals sharing the same passion and enthusiasm over the Kawaii culture, Kawaii in Manila really brought kawaii Japanese overload to the metro! For the team, Kawaii has developed into more than just its original meaning; it’s become a global phenomenon because of its widespread influence on art, fashion, beauty and food, among many things, and a way of looking at the world in a happy and positive (but still cute and fun!) light.

It was a day-long event dedicated to promote the interest and appreciation for the Kawaii Japanese culture. Visited by Kawaii lovers of all ages, there were different activities in store and lots of booths to visit!

Upon entering, the people manning the registration greeted everyone with eagerness and joy. On the other side, a photo booth courtesy of Instax awaited! Unlimited picture taking for the win! 😀 It was the perfect souvenir that anyone could personalize with washi tapes, different colored pens and other artsy stuff! A perfect way to start a cool convention, right?
