Katz Diner: Home of the Best Taro Milk Tea, Ribs, Good Times and More!

With good company comes great times. Okay, I made this up. But I was inspired to come up with this statement as I reminisced about our stay at Katz Diner. This foodie stop located in the famed Sikatuna Village in Quezon City not only serves great food choices, but also gives great dining memories.

Katz Diner 3

Starting out as a milk tea place in April 2014, Katz Diner has grown into a casual cozy dining place and prides itself for its honest-to-goodness meals. Serving only stuff that they also want to eat, it’s not only the tummy, but also the heart that will be warmed by the welcoming vibe once you step inside.

Katz Diner ensures quality and reasonably-priced offerings that do not scrimp on the spices and ingredients needed to perfect each recipe. Their food will make you feel homey as you eat and share a conversation with your buddies and the owners themselves. As Kampampangas who love cooking, owner Catherine Oronce and her family want to give their customers a taste of their own version of the classic staples people love.

Here is the *drooling* fare we devoured at Katz Diner:

Berry and House Teas

Before we wolfed down the banquet they prepared, we downed their berry and house iced teas served in pitchers. We didn’t wait for long until the first plate finally paraded towards our table!

Quesadillas, Roast Pork Belly and Lettuce Wraps

We sampled THREE refreshing and light appetizers. The headlining platter involved a burst of flavors that greeted our taste buds! We had the Quesadillas, pulled pork in soft tortilla; Roast Pork Belly, served on a bed of mashed sweet potato with gravy, egg, pickled cucumber and rice; and (my favorite) Lettuce Wraps, crispy pork and veggie rolls. Honestly, this platter is really overwhelming (in a good way) because there’s so much good stuff on one plate. Good thing sharing is an option, as we needed to save room for more to come.

Warm Chicken Salad

Next is the Warm Chicken Salad with grilled chicken, romaine lettuce, mixed veggies and their house-made balsamic vinaigrette dressing. We found ourselves digging into the lettuce as it perfectly complements the dressing.

 Orange Sesame Salad

The last appetiser wass the Orange Sesame Salad with greens, crispy chicken strips, mandarin oranges, mixed veggies, toasted almonds and their orange sesame dressing. Though I find the dressing too strong (when a lot of it is drizzled onto the salad), I love the texture of the mix. The wonton noodles and almonds on top especially give an interesting touch to this starter. We still weren’t over the starters when the entrees were served!Â
