KALOOKIES! Go Gaga Over Manila’s Very Own Cookie Wonderland
When in Manila, you’ll never really run out of options during Valentine’s Day and even beyond! Flowers, cakes, and chocolates never get old, but there’s definitely nothing wrong with giving your special someone a box of cookies, either.
Yes, you read that right. We’re not talking about just the usual choco chip or oatmeal cookies, of course, but cookies that have Hershey’s, Nutella, and Reese’s embedded inside of them. Thanks to Kalookies, we can now experience a whole new level of cookie-eating and gift-giving!
Kalookies is an online shop that started out last September 2012. The shop was founded by Khalil Kaimo and his fiancée, Arianna Colamonici, who acts as the Operations Manager. Their humble beginning was rather sweet, with Khalil baking choco chip cookies with Nutella just for his then-girlfriend, Arianna. It slowly became a simple hobby for their family and friends, until they finally got a website and, as they say: the rest is history.

Kalookies has three types of cookies available: Kalookie cups with literally HUGE chunks of chocolates and fillings, flat Kalookies which are the more traditional ones, and the Kalookie Minis, which are smaller versions of their cups. Each cookie’s name is very creative and unique, just like their best sellers Oreolla (kalookie cups with oreo on top), Kalucky (kalookie cups with white toblerone and nutella), and Kalassic (Hershey’s semi sweet chocolate and nutella). Other best sellers include Reese’s & Nutella, and B&W (Hershey’s semi sweet choco chip with white choco chunks and nutella).
Who would say no to these? WHO?
The cookies have a shelf life of seven days, by the way, so should you plan on going abroad, you may hand-carry them and bring them to your loved ones overseas! Kalookies has actually already reached different places, such as New York, California, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, and many others.
Currently, Kalookies occasionally supplies cookies for Sure Mini Mart (along C5). They have plans of participating in bazaars this year, too, though. If C5 isn’t accessible to you and you can’t wait for those bazaars to happen just yet, you may order their exquisitely yummy goodies online.
