Penguin Coast: Perhaps one of the cutest places in the park. Must take the kids here! And if you don’t like penguins at all, I swear, you’re gonna love them after your visit here!
You may be wondering why these penguins are able to live in a tropical climate like Singapore… these Jackass penguins are actually one of the few species that has adapted to the tropics. They also have and indorr, climate-controlled exhibit that’s home to the Humboldt, rockhopper, macaroni and the majestic king penguin.
To gain a deeper appreciation of avian wildlife and the park’s conservation efforts, visit the Breeding & Research Centre for a behind-the-scenes look at the growth process of birds from incubation to weaning.
Aside from the fascinating exhibits, it’s also an absolute MUST to witness animal presentations such as the Lunch with Parrots, Kings of the Skies and High Flyers shows!
I really enjoyed the Parrot encounter while having lunch. Their trainers are really great!
All their shows are centered to conservation, so this is a great way to teach your little ones on how to care for animals and mother earth.
Here, you can meet parrots that can talk and count. So witty!
You can even meet and greet Pikasso, a bird that can paint!
One of the best souvenirs you can take home is a painting made by Pikasso, so don’t hesitate to buy some of his artworks after the show. =)
The High Flyers Show features an exhilarating line-up of the park’s best-loved bird stars and new talents. It’s a high altitude, free-flying performance that will leave you marvelling at the amazing natural talents, beauty and intelligence of our feathered friends from around the world.
They even have a bird that sings well…
Kings of the Skies Show
Journey back in time as medieval masters walk you through the ancient art of falconry, a sport once reserved for nobility.
Again, since you’ll have to walk outdoors the entire day, it pays to wear a hat, comfortable clothing as well as drinks to keep you hydrated throughout the day.
Furthermore, plan your visit well by checking out the show and feeding times so you can maximize your Jurong Bird Park adventure!
