Imagine going for a theme park ride, expecting to see mannequins and perhaps a few robotic moving things in the theme of a pretty popular Disney movie, and then seeing the real actor playing the lead role during the ride instead? Well, this actually happened to a lucky (albeit pretty confused) few at Disneyland just a few days ago.
“That’s really Johnny Depp, you guys.” A girl can be heard talking on the video as they cruise down the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. How lucky! Fully dressed and in character, Johnny Depp shows up at the ride as Captain Jack Sparrow—everyone’s beloved funny pirate from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

This is not the first time Depp has showed up in costume outside set. The actor has also been reported to have visited children’s hospitals dressed as Sparrow. What a guy. Although, of course, this stint at Disneyland is probably a promotional thing—Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales hits the theaters this May.
