John Lloyd Cruz, ‘Ang Babaeng Humayo’ Bag Nominations at 2018 ICS Awards

Lav Diaz’s ‘Ang Babaeng Humayo’ (The Woman Who Left), starring ABS-CBN’s chief content officer Charo Santos-Concio and John Lloyd Cruz, continues to gain global recognition, bagging a total of three nominations at this year’s International Cinephile Society (ICS) Awards.

The film, which won the Golden Lion Award at the 2016 Venice Film Festival, followed by the Audience Award at the Festival de Cinema d’Autor in Spain, with a great review at the New York Times, has been nominated for ‘Best Film Not in the English Language’ and ‘Best Adapted Screenplay’ at the 2018 ICS Awards. John Lloyd Cruz was also nominated for ‘Best Supporting Actor.’

The International Cinephile Society, according to its official site, is “an online group made up of approximately 100 accredited journalists, film scholars, historians, and other industry professionals who cover film festivals and events.”

 

Winners of the 15th ICS Awards are set to be announced on February 4.
