Power Latino couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony has publicly revealed that their seven-year-marriage has already ended and they are getting a divorce. Despite their high-profile celebrity statuses, the two had only told a few close friends about the separation until last Friday.
So I guess this means Jenny won’t be able to’ dance with her Papi’ anymore.
After seven years of marriage to Marc Anthony (not to mention two failed marriages and two high-profile breakups) it still wasn’t “a happily ever after” for JLo.
When in Manila, we didn’t see it coming. They were a picture perfect couple when Lopez danced to Marc Anthony’s song together at the last American Idol season premiere.
“We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision,” the couple said. “We have come to amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”The joint statement was relayed by Lopez’s publicist.
What could be the possible causes of their separation? Sources told that Marc Anthony is controlling, which Jennifer Lopez actually liked at first since they were in love and she felt that he’s able to stand up for her. Another cause might be their verbal fights which worsened when Lopez’s mom moved into their mansion in 2008 to look after the twins. In addition, Lopez allegedly got furious when she discovered that Marc Anthony’s got millions worth of unpaid taxes. And lastly, they can’t agree on where to live together. Lopez wants to live in Malibu, near Hollywood.
But Marc chose to stay in New York. Lopez was about to move to New York but with the separation, it obviously isn’t going to happen anymore.
On the contrary, Lopez talked about making their marriage life work on the January 2011 issue of Latina Magazine. “We’re gonna go through hard times, but we’re gonna work through them, and that’s what we try to do.” Lopez said. Everything is great about my marriage.
First and foremost, we love each other, truly love each other in a way that’s very deep and meaningful, not in a superficial sort of way. There’s a deep respect, admiration and love for each other.” Okay.
Wonder how their separation would affect their routine performances together, their joint businesses, and their upcoming reality talent show. A close source revealed that the couple have agreed to push through with their new show called “Q’Viva! The Chosen,”. It’ll be a live extravaganza show wherein the two will travel on different parts of the globe to feature the best Latin performers in music, dance and other arts. Could this show be able to bring them back in each others’ arms? That we’ll have to find out.
There are no reports yet as to whether Marc is already dating another woman but there are rumors that Lopez is dating her leading man in the music video “I’m Into You”. He’s a telenovela star named William Levy.
Marc Anthony has fathered 3-year-old twins Emme and Max Muniz from Lopez.
