Isla Sugba Seafood City: Your Premier Destination for Sutukil

When in Cebu, it is almost a right of passage to try Sutukil. For everyone who isn’t familiar with Sutukil, it is a shortcut Sugba, Tuwa and Kilawin. These are three different ways of cooking food, which incidentally works well together.

Recently, Isla Sugbu Seafood City opened at the Grand Convention Center in Cebu. As soon as you enter the vicinity, you will see the wide seating area and the market where you can choose the freshest ingredients for your orders.

For the fish, they have Bangus, Salmon, Katambak, Mol-Mol and Maya-Maya, but the choices may vary depending on the fresh catches of the day. They also have squid, barbeque and liempo if you want some variety in your Sutukil.

What sets Isla Sugbu Seafood City apart from your usual restaurant is that you can experience picking your own food and you can also watch how your food is cooked through the glass window of the kitchen.

Some of the favorites are the Lobsters which can be cooked in many different ways in Isla Sugbu.

At the grand opening, we were lucky enough to participate in a Sutukil game where two teams took a shot of serving Sugba, Tuwa and Kilawin to 100 hungry diners within a single hour.
