Women like Joy Subalisid are changing the concept of Filipina beauty: she no longer needs to be quiet and gentle. They can be whoever they want to be, and they can do whatever the hell they want, including kick your butt.
Joy Subalisid is a bodybuilder, and an award-winning bodybuilder at that. In 2014, she was one of two of the best bodybuilding and fitness athletes in the country after ruling the Shawn Rhoden Classic 2014. In an interview, Joy said that she enjoys bodybuilding because it gives her the right attitude towards healthy living, and that it teaches her to deal with other people and control herself from temptation. If that’s what it means to be healthy, sign us up for that one!
