An inspiration to many, Ronaldo “Ronnie” del Carmen is a Pinoy director and writer born in Cavite. He is known for being a co-director of the hit animated film “Inside Out.” He received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay for the said film along with Peter Docter, the man behind other hit animated films including “Up” and “Monsters, Inc.”

When he was young, del Carmen already showed love for drawing and movies. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Major in Advertising Arts from the University of Santo Tomas.

At 29, he left the country to pursue his dream of working in films. Prior to joining Pixar in 2000, he also worked for DreamWorks and Warner Bros.

Last January 10, “Inside Out” won Best Animated Feature Film at the Golden Globe Award.

The 88th Academy Awards or the “Oscars” will be held on February 28 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California.
