There is just enough reason for going wild according to Carmina Valdes, AB Student Council Public Relations Officer and Project head for INSIGNIA 2012.
It is that time of the year when the UST Faculty of Arts and Letters’ Search for the Epitome of Artlet Beauty, this time with a much greater cause. The second INSIGNIA 2012 GOES WILD, not only for the battle for glory and recognition but also to raise awareness for animal rights.
From the AB majors Asian Studies, Behavioral Science, Communication Arts, Economics, English Language Studies, History Journalism, Legal Management, Literature, Political Science Philosophy and Sociology, the candidates’ activities include workshops that are for caring abandoned and rescued animals in Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) shelter. Over the university’s semester break, the INSIGNIA 2012 models prepared food for the rescued animals in the PAWS shelter.
“This is the biggest INSIGNIA we have produced so far because we are proud to have partnered with PAWS for this advocacy,” AB Student Council Vice President-External Carmela Laxamana said.
The photos from Bjorn Manila, one of our country’s top fashion bloggers and editorial fashion photographer featured the candidates’ action poses in monochrome, giving a preview of what’s coming this year’s search. The candidates are styled by one of the top make-up artists and hairstylists, Clarence Paul and Mycke Arcano of MEGA Magazine’s Top Fashion Crew Season 1, Elaine Silva of BYS Cosmetics and by top make-up artist and Artlet Alumna, Diane Lorenzana. The runway finale will feature the creations of Lhenvil Paneda of Project Runway Philippines.

The INSIGNIA 2012 pageant will be on November 29, 2012 at the UST Quadricentennial Pavillion Coevered Grounds at 6 p.m. to be judged by Vern Enciso, Dani Baretto, RA Rivera, Ramon Bautista and Sheena McBride Bonus of The Fashion Academy Manila.
