IKEA, a famous retailer of furniture, home furnishings, and household needs from Sweden, is finally coming to the Philippines! To be built at the SM Mall of Asia Complex, the store is going to be 65,000 sq meters big—almost double the size of a typical IKEA big blue-box, making it the largest IKEA store in the world.

Said to be completed by the end of 2020, IKEA Philippines will have two floors dedicated to 55 showrooms, and will feature different styles and designs depending one’s mood and lifestyle. For sure, IKEA Philippines will have everything you will need for your home under one roof!

“The IKEA vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people, so we are excited to be bringing our offer to a country where millions of people share our passion for home,” said Christian Rojkjaer, the managing director IKEA Southeast Asia, owner of IKEA stores in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. “We have around 9,000 well-designed, functional home furnishing products that can help people make everyday life at home a little better. All at an affordable price!”

Even though 2020 seems to be a long time, here’s why we should anticipate the grand opening of IKEA Philippines:

The affordable prices

Just like any other IKEA stores around the world, IKEA Philippines promised to offer the best prices in the market, making sure that the customers will make the most out of the money they spend. The IKEA team carefully studied how the Filipinos live to better cater to the needs of every Filipino home.

It will inspire you to design your home

Our home is an extension of our self expression. Inspiration may be one factor that is underrated in Filipino homes, knowing that functionality comes first before anything else. IKEA believes that this is crucial in picking your home needs as it will also determine one’s mood. With a store that big, it is merely impossible to not find anything that suits one’s taste and home needs. With IKEA, Filipinos can get more creative with their homes and even get tips from the crew.

It will motivate you to start a more sustainable lifestyle

This may be the biggest challenge for IKEA—to provide quality products that contribute to a more sustainable living at home. IKEA consumes sustainable raw materials that lessen the contribution to pollution, ranging from affordable LED lights to recycling solutions.

IKEA is now looking for local partners to support operations in areas such as food supply, transport, waste management, security, and more.
