For the majority of the Filipinos, Binondo serves as the capital of all things Chinese with its deeply embedded roots in the South East Asia’s earliest traders, and with that comes the culture’s dynamic and colorful cuisine. However, most of what we know of our staple Chinese dishes stem from Cantonese fare from the Guangdong region.

This June, The Cafe at Hyatt City of Dreams Manila is bringing authentic flavors from the Chinese province straight to its guests and patrons with visiting Cantonese chefs, Xi Qing Hui and Zhao Pan Fei in partnership with Hyatt Regency Dongguan.

Aside from the usual roasts of duck and century egg, anticipate Cantonese favorites including Pork Asado and Crispy Belly Pork Macau Style.

A celebration of Cantonese cuisine calls for hot staples, so expect mouthwatering dishes such as Fried Rice with Scallop, Shrimp, Carrots and Asparagus, Wok- Fried Prawns and Asparagus with Black Fungus in XO Sauce, Deep-Fried Parrot Fish with Cantonese Chili Sauce, Stir-Fried Vermicelli with Prawns.
