How to “YOLO” as an Adult: 5 Rules to Live By

“YOLO!” “YOLO!” “YOLOOOOOO!!!!!”

I don’t really remember the last time I shouted that phrase, but I remember doing so several times after staying out super late drinking alcohol and going to parties in years past. Now that I’m closer to 30, though, and more of a Tita than I’d care to admit, I’ve eased up on the YOLO phase and shifted into being a more responsible parent and adult, in general.

If I had known about the different products that I could have taken to take better care of myself in my 20s, though, I may have YOLO-ed more than I did. In fact, it is making me consider doing certain things now for the sake of the fact that we, indeed, only live once. So, dear millennials, don’t pay to much attention to the Titas like me who roll their eyes at you when you live your life to the fullest. Just make sure you take good care of yourself whenever you do.

How to “YOLO” as an Adult: 5 Rules to Live By

5. Eat what you want when you want to.

I shake my head at past-Angeline whenever I look back at all of the diets I put myself through with hopes of losing weight. I sigh when I think about all of the French fries that I didn’t eat just because I was scared of gaining weight.

Nowadays, it’s practically unavoidable to eat out every now and then, but that doesn’t mean you have to constantly look for salad whenever you want to lose weight. In fact, you can (and should) eat whatever you want – at least in moderation. Just don’t deprive yourself of the good stuff for fear of gaining weight.

If you’re worried about gaining weight from eating too much, though, then add some FatOut supplements into your life. By taking FatOut, you can easily lose weight without the need for dieting or even exercise (though, of course, exercising is still good for your health!) Read more about FatOut here.

4. Indulge in your favorite sweets every once in a while.

On that note, don’t deprive yourself of your favorite sweets, either. Weight gain aside, a lot of people avoid sweets because of other dangers they could experience from eating too much of it.

There is nothing wrong with eating sweets in moderation, though. In fact, it can be good for you because chocolate makes everyone happy! Okay, I made that up, but chocolate definitely makes me happy, even on my downest days; so if the same goes for you, indulge more in it!

3. Experiment with makeup trends.

I’ve lived through the super skinny kilay trend, the super colorful eyeshadow trend and the crazy eyeliner colors trend; and while I may cringe at my photos whenever I look at them now, man, did they bring back a lot of memories.

My mother always used to tell me off and blame my makeup for any breakouts (however few) I may have had when I was younger, but I had so much fun buying cosmetics and trying out different things. While today’s makeup trends may no longer be in trend a few years from now, you’ll sure have fun talking about them when you look back at old pictures – trust me.

If you’re worried you’ll ruin your skin with too much makeup, though, then add some Vita-E supplements into your life. Vita-E will keep your skin glowing, healthy and smooth, no matter how much makeup you put on everyday. And hey, if makeup makes you feel beautiful, enjoy it as much as you want.

2. Enjoy your out-of-town trips to the fullest.

How many times have I heard a friend moan and groan whenever I suggested doing anything remotely outdoorsy? A LOT OF TIMES. Okay, I can’t really blame them what with the presence of things like Zika and dengue out there, but it’s quite sad when we cancel out-of-town trips or random hangouts just because it’s malamok.

Travel all you want, dear millennial. There is so much beauty out there to experience, so many memories to make and so many sights to see. Just make sure you’re always prepared and pack your things beforehand to make sure you have everything that you need.

If mosquitoes tend to bug you a lot when you’re outdoors, though, stock up on some good mosquito repellent like Strike. Remember: it’s better to be safe and sorry, and you do NOT want to end up in a hospital with an unwanted disease. Besides, it won’t take up much of your time. Read more about Strike here.

1. Party like there’s no tomorrow!

I used to drink a lot – and I didn’t really care that I did. Like I said, I had my “YOLO”-screaming moments. More than the drinks, though, I had a ton of fan dancing with my friends, meeting new people, watching DJs and bands perform, and making crazy good memories.

If you don’t drink and party, then good on you; but if you do, there’s no need to feel horrible about it the next day – provided you didn’t do anything (or anyone) you regret, anyway. Cherish those moments. You’ll miss them once you become a workaholic or a parent or a Tita who’d rather stay home because she’s too tired to do anything else.
