Hold your horses, Disney fans: Mulan could have songs after all!

Mulan director Niki Caro has clarified her comments about whether the live-action version of the 1999 Disney animated film would include music or not.

In an interview with Los Angeles Times, Caro talked about the music issue in the upcoming film:

“I don’t know where that’s come from. We’ve never talked about songs, and no decision has been made.”

Caro’s earlier interview with Moviefone made headlines, sending 90’s kids into a frenzy when asked about music in the movie, which she replied with:

“Yes, from what I understand, no songs right now, much to the horror of my children.”

To be fair, she did say “right now”, which means the decision could come up later.

The original 1998 movie introduced classics such as “Reflection”, “I’ll Make A Man Out of You”, and “A Girl Worth Fighting For”.

Filipina actress Lea Salonga was the singing voice of Mulan.
