According to the job posting, “We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic people to animate the famous Disney characters. If you have a good level of dance, you can participate in our parade and our cavalcades!”

It adds, “We are also looking for people who look like our famous Princesses and Princes to meet our visitors on a daily basis. A good level of dance and distinctive criteria of resemblance are required.”

Apart from that, applicants must be between 4’5” and 6’3”.

If ever you’re seriously considering taking on the job, we have to warn you that it can be grueling. Former Disney princesses have talked about their life on the job and it’s tough.

Michelle Ruiz, who had portrayed Belle, wrote in a Cosmopolitan article that people have to start out as fur characters, like Pluto or Goofy. She added that the costumes have no ventilation and some have passed out because of the heat.

She also revealed that fur actors hate the princes and princesses actors because they earn so much more. Regardless, the perks are great because they get “40 percent off at Disney stores, 50 percent off the cruises, 40 percent off food in all the parks and free passes for your friends and family.”

After her fur training, Ruiz went on a four-day princess training, where she watched Beauty and the Beast with a trainer, followed Belle actresses on the job, and answered quizzes related to the character. She also learned how to do her own makeup since princesses are expected to do their own makeup. All the cosmetics team needs to do is check it before they go “on set.”

Some girls are not allowed to go on set because of weight and acne. It can also get tiring as princesses are expected to smile at all times to avoid photos of them not smiling. They have to greet 172 guests per hour, and they would get reprimanded if they go under. Four reprimands and they’re fired. Yes, someone follows them around with a clicker to make sure they greet 172 guests.

In a Reddit AMA, user doublenn shared about her life as Snow White, sharing that the audition process is long and that “princesses are usually 5’4”-5’7”, Fairies and Alice or Wendy are all 4’11”-5’2”.” As for the age, most girls are 18 to 23 years old, and that 27 is considered old for a princess. As for the pay, it wasn’t that high.
