Heima’s New Summer Collection: ‘This is the Life!’

Founded in 2009 by interior designer Rossy Anne Yabut-Rojales and husband Robert “Bong” Rojales, the store has grown from its original Cubao Expo location into three branches around the metro in addition to creating sub-brands ‘My Apartment’ and ‘Paper Club’.

On Saturday, May 24, Heima launched its latest collection titled ‘This is the Life’. True to Heima’s motto ‘Live Happy, Beyond Ordinary’, the collection boasts of bright colors, beautifully designed furniture pieces and small home items crafted with a sharp eye attended to even small details.

The new collection by Heima draws its tagline from the commonly used phrase “This is the life”, usually articulating a state of happiness, serenity and a sense of “Nothing else is missing!”/ “I’m in paradise!” while on vacation. If you use any social media network (who doesn’t, nowadays?), chances are you’ve read or used this phrase before! Heima’s new collection tries to bring exactly that happy holiday-feel to your living room by designing furniture pieces reminiscent of all things summer: the sun, the sea and the sky.

Heima’s summer collection art work: inspired by the sun, the sea and the sky

Visual communications design lead Gigi Lapid explains that many people’s busy schedules don’t allow them to enjoy a relaxing vacation by a summer destination like the beach. With this in mind, Heima’s interiors bring a piece of sun, sea and sky to the home. While ‘This is the life’ is the brand’s summer collection, it is not limited to only one season – after all, happiness and vacation-like relaxation should be available throughout the whole year, shouldn’t it?

Under the creative direction of owner Rossy Anne Yabut-Rojales and the visual lead of Gigi Lapid, Heima’s new collection is a continuation of the brand’s well established characteristics: quality, colorfully happy and unique designs as well as beautiful details. This effort has proven to be effective for the company: customers wanting to buy a Heima piece will have to wait around 45-60 days from order date to delivery and yet the demand is high and the wait-list very long.

If you are familiar with Heima, you may know the brand’s signature floral prints and cutesy designs. Moving into a more sophisticated direction, the new designs still contain the same happy character the brand is so well known for, but now showcase simpler patterns and straight lines.

The current collection is a preview of what Heima has in store for you next month: the launch of a follow-up line that will focus on even more sophisticated designs and incorporate a hint of luxury.
