Happy at Work Conference 2014: TeamPLAY! Gameplans for Holistic Engagement Strategies
In an employee engagement survey conducted by TINYpulse in 2013, it was revealed that team play and collaboration are the top traits employees love about their co-workers. Those who have good relationships with their colleagues tend to be happier at work than those who rated them lower. Among the different factors that employees consider when rating co-workers, it was teamwork that was mentioned the most.
This shift from a manager-driven employee engagement to coworker-driven is further supported by another result of the study: employee happiness is now more dependent on co-workers than on direct managers. As the workplace becomes more collaborative, the importance of co-worker relationships is growing.
As the world of work keeps on changing, the more smart HR and executive teams need to be in hiring and keeping top talent. Gameplans should shift from manager-driven to team-driven to increase engagement and achieve a better bottom line.
