Toy brand Funko is trying to make fetch happen as they will soon release a line of Mean Girls statuettes, so expect a cute version of Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan), Regina George (Rachel McAdams), Gretchen Wieners (Lacey Chabert), and Karen Smith (Amanda Seyfried).
Mean Girls follows the story of Heron who integrates into a high school after being homeschooled in Africa. There, she tries to adjust to high school life, despite being adopted by the school’s most popular and meanest clique, known as the Plastics.
The film was directed by Mark Waters and written by Tina Fey, and received positive reviews from critics. Rotten Tomatoes summarized it as”funnier and more smartly written than the average teen comedy.”
A direct-to-DVD standalone sequel was released in 2011, but a potential sequel could happen after Lohan convinced her castmates to persuade Fey to write a sequel. In 2013, Fey confirmed that a musical is in the works, with her writing the script and possibly directing it as well.
