Green Canyon Resort: The First Eco Art Resort in the Philippines

Green Canyon Resort: The First Eco Art Resort in the Philippines

After a grueling summer semester in school, an escape from the busy life of Manila was definitely a must to relieve myself from all the stress and get back to my healthy and happy self. But even with the huge number of resorts here in the country, it was hard for me to find a place that is both fun and peaceful at the same time. Thank God for Green Canyon Resort.

Green Canyon Resort: The First Eco Art Resort in the Philippines

Green Canyon Resort is the first Eco Art Resort in the Philippines. The whole resort was built with sustainable living in mind and it showcases how it is indeed possible to build beautiful infrastructures without destroying nature.

My friend and I recently headed over to Green Canyon Resort and we loved it instantly. Here are 4 reasons why I’m sure you guys will love it, too.

1. Everything is one of a kind.

The room that we stayed in for the night was quite simple yet very relaxing at the same time. Green Canyon Resort was very proud to tell us that no two rooms in this 60-room boutique hotel are exactly alike. However, what intrigued me about the rooms the most is how the bedframes were made from the trees that were killed during Typhoon Ondoy.

Unlike most resort lobbies, Green Canyon Resort’s lobby is reminiscent of that of a gallery. The whole area is filled with their artist Niccolo Jose’s one-of-a-kind furniture and artwork like the one seen above.

2. Palette and the Boulders Lounge

Green Canyon Resort has two restaurants up their sleeves: Palette and the Boulders Lounge. During the tour, Abel Jose shared that all of their fruits and vegetables are of their own harvest and while their restaurants do not specialize on healthy eating, they do promote conscious eating.

Palette is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch or even brunch. Although this may seem like a normal restaurant, a click of a button actually lets water walls surround the restaurant to cool the place down on days when the sun is unbearable.

While Palette is the perfect place to lunch with the ladies, Boulders Lounge is the perfect place to dine with your man.

The whole place is so intimate and romantic – perfect for a dinner date to celebrate a monthsary, an anniversary or anything under the sun.

3. The place is to die for.

Green Canyon Resort has got to be one of the most beautiful places I have been to in the country. What I love the most about this place is how it brings out the natural beauty of the Philippines almost effortlessly.

One can opt to take a hike in the morning and be surprised by the beautiful scenery of the whole resort at the top of the mountain.

You can even watch the sunrise or the sunset with your friends!

4. The amenities are refreshing.

Green Canyon Resort houses two pools . The first is their Symphony Pool where guests can take a dip or laze around the cabanas. The second is their Wave Pool, where adventure seekers can swim like they’re in a real body of water.

Before getting to the much-awaited Wave Pool, though, you will have to pass by this hanging bridge first. Conversely, you may opt for the longer route instead, but where’s the fun in that?

Unlike most wave pools, Green Canyon’s Wave Pool is powered by this huge ball. For people who are afraid of the water like I am, don’t worry, you can still enjoy the Wave Pool with the help of a life vest!

For the adrenaline junkies out there, Green Canyon Resort also offers ATV Rides, which you can use to drive around the resort or go up the rocky mountains.

Indeed, Green Canyon Resort is the perfect place to visit to escape the reality and the busyness that Manila life brings. So, When In Manila readers, mark your calendars because you don’t wanna get left behind when all the Manileños head on over to Green Canyon once they open their doors to guests on the September 20, 2014!
