This Gold-Ube Donut from Manila Social Club Costs $100 a Piece

How much would you pay for a donut?

I’m not a huge donut fan myself. In fact, there are only very few specific donuts that I really like, but this is the first time I’ve actually gotten super intrigued by a donut. I spotted this on @manilasocialclub’s Instagram account, where I got the photo below from, and this is what they call their “Golden Cristal Ube Donut”.

Their photo caption reads:

The Manila Social Club presents their infamous gold-ube donut, adorned with icing made with Cristal champagne and filled with an ube mousse, champagne jelly, and covered with 24k Gold. $100 per donut.

Yes, it is a $100 donut! I’m torn between wanting to buy it to try it and wanting to buy it to just display it somewhere. Really: aren’t you wondering what this must taste like? If you are and you live in Brooklyn, you can actually place orders at Manila Social Club! 🙂 Let me know if you end up trying it, so I can live vicariously through you. :p
