GMA Artist Encourages People to Adopt Pets Instead of Buying

averystarstruck

Avery Paraiso from GMA’s Starstruck posted online about his love for animals and how he wants to end breed discrimination (yes it does exist) he describes it as when “People who don’t think an animal is worth anything unless it’s paid for, such as a purebred”

In this post, he wants to promote caring and loving animals despite their breed and he reminds people that “for every animal adopted from a shelter, 2 are saved. The adopted animal AND the animal the shelter now has room for.”

Hi folks,

Avery Paraiso from GMA Starstruck season 6 here. I’m writing this letter to make everyone aware of the thousands of unwanted stray pets in our streets. Through bad circumstances and no fault of their own, they struggle to survive with what little they can find to eat. They are often hit by cars or acquire a host of diseases, if they are lucky enough to live.

In addition to this, Aspins and Puspins are in danger from some humans too. People who don’t think an animal is worth anything unless it’s paid for, such as a purebred. We should all realize, no matter what the breed or mixture an animal is, they feel happiness, pleasure, loneliness, pain and depression just like we do.

We can’t save the world, but we CAN help. There are great animal shelter organizations run by people who truly care about animal welfare. For them, it’s an uphill battle getting much needed funding and caring for these precious lives. The rescuers from these organizations take in stray, abused, sick and starving animals and bring them to vets and nurse them back to health if possible. The end result, if they are lucky, is a happy, healthy animal who is waiting to be adopted to a great family.

What is needed?

1. DONATIONS to pay for vetting, location rents, kennels, caretakers, animal food etc… And of course the happy ending all animal advocates wish, for those lucky pets they have worked so hard to save,

2. BE ADOPTED by caring people like you. Remember- for every animal adopted from a shelter, 2 are saved. The adopted animal AND the animal the shelter now has room for. So if you have a place in your home and heart for a precious life or 2 or 3, 🙂 please visit your local pound or animal shelter to pick out your new best friend.

And please remember to have them spayed or neutered.

We believe this is a great advocacy. Well done, Avery!
