Last September 24, 2016, I went to the Annual Global Mala Project at WhiteSpace Makati. The event promotes yoga, service, and collective action. It’s the largest unified worldwide yoga event dedicated to positive change. It offered classes and talks on yoga, meditation, dance, and more.
It was a full house, from 8:00am to 10:00pm. The day-long event was separated into different classes. Yoga teachers, musicians, and speakers came together to inspire and radiate positivity and peace to yoga enthusiasts, newbies, and even celebrities. Teresa Herrera-Anthony, a model, environmentalist, and yoga teacher who brought Global Mala Project to the Philippines was also there to host. All the proceeds of this event went to charity (Coalition Against Trafficking in Women-Asia Pacific), so it wasn’t just promoting peace and positive change but also sought social consciousness.
Of course, what’s an event without some food? Wholesome Table offered a wide range of food and drinks. The food looked good and smelled good, and was also aligned with the program’s goal of promoting good health. They had sandwiches, vegan bowls, and gluten-free pastries. It was a perfect way to relax after a solid yoga session.
There was also an exhibition area with a booth selling yoga apparel and yoga lifestyle products. It was sponsored by Certified Calm. Darcy Ong, owner of Certified Calm, a yoga enthusiast herself, was also there. They offer a diverse range of athletic goods, essentials of a fitness program, and other relevant items from yoga mats to apparel and accessories with style for both men and women for either yoga or fitness.
It’s actually their 8th year anniversary. Now they have a branch in Shangri-La Plaza Mall and Two Parkade BGC. For more information visit Certified Calm’s website at www.certifiedcalm.com
Thank you Ms. Monique of Certified Calm for being so accommodating!
