We Filipinos are social animals so it comes to no surprise that we find ourselves in this checklist, but to beat other cities and land the first says a lot of our obsession with ourselves.
Since we already have a reputation to keep, might as well be good at it.
Here are some tips on how you can achieve that perfect Selfie at all times.
1. LOOK AT YOURSELF
Check yourself out.. your outfit, your make up, your body and your face. Feel confident. Feel beautiful. And others will feel the same about you. Finding the right angle is also key. Know your best angle. Remember what angles work best for you and which ones don’t.
2. KNOW YOUR LIGHT
Be keen where light is coming from. Nothing beats the natural bright sunlight. But what about at night? Check your surroundings for available artificial light. The warm yellow light from lampshade and pin lights also make for a flattering shot.
3. WHAT’S YOUR BACKGROUND?
A selfie does not only involve your face. But also consider what happens on your background. Choosing a nice background makes an interesting composition.
4. STEADY YOUR HANDS
Blurred images cannot be used. You wouldn’t want to waste a good shot because of an unsteady hand. So it is best to set your camera use a timer or a monopod! Just remember keep still.
5. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
When taking pictures, the more you take the better choices you have. So just take as many as you can and select the best ones.
6. BRING ON ‘EM FILTERS
No “Selfie Pros” post photos without some sort of basic editing. Fashion magazines do it all the time so why shouldn’t we. Filters easily enhance your photos. Just make sure you do not overdo it.
7. DITCH THE MIRROR !
Try a more creative approach to taking your full body than using a mirror.
8. CANDID SHOTS
Poses that show your silly side is always nice to look at. Sometimes a candid shot will bring in a different perspective to your photos.
9. ANYTHING IN EXCESS IS BAD ENOUGH.
Remember that a selfie is a convenient and practical way to take your picture when no one else can take it during memorable moments. Be careful not to give your social network an overdose of it.
