I saw that video and it really just inspired me to get my ass off the couch and back on the road! I LOVE traveling and it’s really been a while since I’ve last taken a trip away from all the hustle and bustle of life and work!
It’s hard to argue with that statement: “Travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer.”
Learning to surf in San Diego, tasting tacos in Mexico, trying the pizza in New York, meditating in Thailand, relaxing in Australia, discovering friends in Hong Kong, exploring caves in Palawan and all my other adventures have definitely made me the person I am today.
Personally, I believe that each one of us should embark on a trip, by yourselves, to a different country, that speaks an entirely different language. I tell this to all my friends that traveling in a group is fun and all, but if you really want to discover yourself and find yourself, then you need to try traveling alone, at least once in your life.
It’s just a whole different experience having to figure out life in a different country, knowing no one and not even speaking the language. You’ll find out so much about yourself and how you can be independent and strong, all just by making it to lunchtime!
Of course, traveling with your friends is a lot of fun, but if you can, I do recommend doing a self-discovering trip on your own just once in your life.
Manila alone already has so much to offer, now include the rest of the Philippines, and the rest of the world, and you’ll quickly realize that there is not enough time in this life to see all the splendid things that we are meant to discover.
