Two years after its last installation, Frets on Fire will again serenade the UPLB community. This October 26, 2017, the UPLB Nexus Filiae Sorority will host the return of UPLB’s most fiery acoustic night entitled Frets on Fire VII: Ember at 77 Grove Events Place, Lopez Ave., Los Banos, Laguna.
Frets on Fire was first introduced in 2005 to boost the publicity of the organization. After being successful, it was continued to be a fund-raising activity for less fortunate students in different schools around Los Banos. This year, the main goal of Frets on Fire is to raise fund to support the medication of a chosen cancer patient who is very close to the heart of the sorority. As the event’s tag phrase, “It’s time to turn ember into flames again…” convey, the event also aims to show support and encourage the people who are battling cancer through music.
Despite being changed to a classical night on its last launch back in 2015, the UPLB Nexus Filiae will again stage an acoustic night that will showcase the talents of the new generation of LB-grown musicians. Several performances include NINAVIRGIN, Rosetta, Giselle Barrientos, Random Wallflowers, and a mystery performer as the main act of the night.
