We have great news for all our women readers! In time for National Women’s Month, the National Museum in Manila, Kiangan, Kabayan, Angono-Binangonan Petroglyph Site, Tabaco, and Butuan are opening its doors for all women, free of charge!
The news was announced on the Philippine Commission on Women’s Facebook page, which captioned a poster with:
LIBRE. Bilang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Kababaihan, libre ang lahat ng mga Juanas sa buong buwan ng Marso sa Pambansang Museo sa Manila at Kiangan, Kabayan, Angono-Binangonan Petroglyph Site, Tabaco at Butuan! Salamat, National Museum of the Philippines!
(FREE. In celebration of Women’s Month, all women can access the National Museum in Manila, Kiangan, Kabayan, Angono-Binangonan Petroglyph Site, Tabaco and Butuan, free of charge. Thank you, National Museum of the Philippines!)
The National Museum is home to the cultural heritage and natural history of the Filipino people. In 2014, it was renovated to make way for newly-painted walls and reorganized exhibits. Some of its most popular works are Juan Luna’s Spoliarium, a number of Jose Rizal’s sculptures, and an entire collection of Fernando Amorsolo’s portraits, sketches, and notes.
There is also a temporary exhibit of Benedicto Cabrera’s (BenCab) art currently on display.
The museum is located in Padre Burgos Drive, Manila.
