To all coffee lovers out there: if you’re looking for a new twist to your usual morning coffee, this place is something you should definitely visit. Located in The Alley at Karrivin in Makati, Type A is a cold brew stand that serves coffee cocktails! Yup, you heard that right. It’s coffee with alcohol.
Type A’s Cherry Bomb is a coffee cocktail which is a delightful mix of their signature premium cold brew, some Aperol, and finished with a maraschino cherry. At first, I was curious how a blend of alcohol and coffee would work, but the mix was a perfect balance and was just right for one to chitchat over.

Not an alcohol drinker? Don’t worry, you can also try their Iced Black, which is a mix of their premium cold brew and water. If you love coffee your coffee straight to the point, this is the way to go. However, if you want some milk in your coffee, they offer their Iced White.

What makes Type A’s cold brew extra special is that the beans are ground and steeped in cold water for 20 hours. The beans also never touch hot water, so it retains a lot of the caffeine.
Type A also sells their cold brew in bottles (P 950) so you can enjoy them in groups or take them home with you!
One of the owners said that the common misconception about coffee is that people think that the more bitter the coffee, the more caffeine it has. But with Type A’s cold brew, you get the same kick of caffeine but with a smoother taste of coffee. You don’t even need to put any sweetener in it!
Gingerbread Fizz (P 159)
Another must-try when you visit the Type A cold brew stand is their Gingerbread Fizz. It’s their cold brew with sparkling water and some gingerbread syrup. You can also try their Iced Sparkling, a mix of some soda water and their cold brew.
Type A also offers some food items, including deep-fried Oreos and cookies. One of their recommended pairings is their Parmesan Plate with their Type A minus. It is surely an odd pairing, but the combination is something you’ll never forget after the first try.
