FOOD: Chicken and Beef Made Perfect at Hai Chix and Steaks

There are certain days that I enjoy very adult dining experiences. It’s nice to take a break from the usual fast food fare that gives you tasty food in almost an instant but means not having the healthiest or the most scrumptious plate.

There are days that I want to eat a juicy piece of meat or a flavorful plate of chicken. And when days like that come, Hai Chix and Steaks is one of my top choices. In this restaurant, you can get chicken and beef right.

Hai Chix and Steaks menu is simple and straightforward. It highlights chicken and beef dishes, and gives you enough options to select from.

In the restaurant, the basics are cooked meticulously and with ample creativity. You can enjoy a plateful of US Angus ribeye that’s going to hit the right notes. A bite definitely brings harmonious melody that you’d love to hear over and over.

The servings at Hai Chix and Steaks are big. As a rule, you should invite a few friends when you visit. This way, you can order a lot of dishes and then share it with your buddies.

It wasn’t my first time at Hai Chix and Steaks, and I can still remember how fond I was the first time I tried it. I was an instant fan of their steak. You know you have good steak when they don’t smother it with sauce. A sprinkle of salt and pepper is enough to bring out the meat’s flavor. And that’s how they did the steak. It may sound boring but it was a culinary success for me.

The chef ordered for us so we can try their best dishes. The butter garlic shrimp appetizer was a nice surprise. In a restaurant whose namesake is of chicken and beef, it’s nice to know that they have surf dishes that can go along well with the turf. A tip to enjoy the butter garlic shrimp is to slather their homemade bread with the sauce.

Amazingly, Hai Chix and Steaks has pasta dishes and we were able to dig into the shrimp and balsamic vinegar pasta. What??? Yes, you heard it right. The sauce was made with balsamic vinegar. Just when you thought it’s only for salads, well… It’s not. Yet, it works.

To give as a taste of Asian flavors, we were served with Asian soy glazed wings and the house’s specialty, the Hainanese chicken rice.

Tip to keep the crunchiness of the wings is to order the sauce on the side instead of having it glazed.

Although the star of the Hainanese chicken rice is the chicken, it’s important to note that the co-star, the ginger sauce, contributes a lot to the success of the dish. At Hai Chix and Steaks, they prepare the sauce fresh and they make sure it’s perfect otherwise it will mess up the entire ensemble.
