The UP Debate Society is proud to present the biggest debate and adjudication boot camp for junior and senior high school students – Fast Forward: Transcending Limits!
The University of the Philippines Debate Society (UPDS) is the official representative of the University of the Philippines Diliman to all debate and public speaking competitions and fora. The UP Debate Society has always been an advocate for discourse through its many initiatives that aim to develop critical thinking and reasoning.
From April 22- 24, 2017, young minds from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will gather in University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City to learn only from the best of the best in Philippine Debating.
This year, Fast Forward will take their skills beyond limits through its diverse set of lectures. Esteemed alumni such as Yang Villa, Anna Que, Gab Abeleda, Leslie Torres, and Atty. Jesus Falcis will impart their knowledge through their talks that will include topics such as Basic to Advanced Debate, Adjudication and Coaching, Development Economics, Post-truth Politics, and Social Construction and Deconstruction: Sex, Sexuality, and Gender.
Aside from the exchange of learning and experience, there will also be a competitive tournament that will serve as the culmination of the event. The adjudication core, this year, had been handpicked from the UP Debate Society’s member pool. Comprising the adjudication core are Jazmin Jabines, Chesca Hurtado, and Anton Sison.
