Famous Coney Island Hotdogs – The Perfect Cinema Snack

When in Manila, watching a movie on the big screen is one of our favorite pastimes. We do it on the weekends. We do it at night after work. We queue up despite long lines to see box office hits. When it comes to watching movies, it is imperative that we pair it with a perfect snack. And what else is a perfect cinema snack if not a juicy piece of meaty hot dog fitted inside a soft bun and topped with a generous amount of ketchup, mustard, mayo, or even chili con carne?

This is where the Famous Coney Island Hotdogs comes in.

Just a month old, the Famous Coney Island Hotdogs is a new one-stop shop for all of your cinema food needs at Eastwood Citywalk Cinemas. It replaced my go-to French fries place, NY Fries & Dips.

When I first saw the Famous Coney Island Hotdogs, I felt sad, bordering on sorrow. Why did my favorite French fries shop close and who is this new guy entering the movie theater scene?

I had to find out.

Armed with an empty stomach, I had to get to know the Famous Coney Island Hotdogs.

The name of this new food establishment is reminiscent of the popular Coney Island amusement park in the United States.  Indeed, they are related. They share the same umbrella brand and I was rooting that they shared the same hotdogs.

This full-blown hot dog stand brought us the Coney Dog – a succulent beef hotdog cooked perfectly that flavourful juices pop out with every bite. It is blanketed by a copious amount of all-meat and bean-less chili and finished off with a neat line of mustard.

If one hotdog is not enough, the Mighty Dog is your best bet. It has two hot dogs in it, and to make it more sinful, it is wrapped in bacon. It is made even better with nacho cheese and honey mustard. The entire ensemble is then enveloped inside a thin, soft tortilla.
