Facebook Is Testing Snapchat-Like Photo Effects and Filters

It looks like Facebook is taking another jab on photo- and video-sharing social media app “Snapchat”.

Apparently, the social media giant is testing out photo effects and filters into its main camera that are memorable of Snapchat. Moreover, Facebook is also testing a new feature that lets photos and videos disappear after 24 hours.

Facebook calls this as “the new camera”. Testing is currently done in Ireland but rollout may soon be available in various parts of the world.

Here’s a video preview of the said feature:

In addition to these new camera features, Facebook is also putting the camera icon on the left side of the News Feed so users can easily swipe to show a photo or video on direct message to their friends.

In October, Facebook announced the new feature called “Messenger Day” that tries to replicate Snapchat’s “Stories” where users can post photos and videos that disappear after a day.

What do you think of this new feature coming to Facebook soon?
