The first eXtri race was held in 2003 in San Juan, Batangas. It is a sprint-distance triathlon event which includes a one-kilometer open water swim, a 23-kilometer cross-country mountain bike ride, and a four-kilometer trail run. The eXtri sprint race is one of the country’s long-running triathlon event.

This year’s race was very challenging with the anxiety of the looming typhoon Ruby. But with the help of Martin Aguda who is a safety and security expert and was stationed in the NDRRMC office in Camp Aguinaldo working alongside USEC Pama, we were able to make sure that we would be able to safely host the event for our triathletes.

This edition of race was for the benefit of Hugom Elementary School in Batangas where the race proceeds were able to help with the fencing of the premises.

Meanwhile, we also had the RAW edition which is a shorter counterpart of the main event. It’s goal is to get the new triathletes ready to face their face triathlon.
