Through the years, the UPLB Statistical Society, a duly recognized academic organization in the University of the Philippines Los Baños which is committed to the pursuit of academic and professional excellence, continues to work towards the advancement and promotion of the proper application of Statistics in all fields of learning endeavors.
This year, the organization is once again conducting Estadistika, an invitational statistics quiz, essay writing, and poster making contest. It will be participated by students from public and private high schools in Region IV-A CALABARZON and the National Capital Region (NCR).
This activity aims to instill the value of Statistics among students and measure the effectiveness of high school Statistics curriculum.
Estadistika 2016 will be held on the 15th of February, 2016 from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm in the University of the Philippines Los Baños, with the theme “Knowing Risks, Saving Lives: Statistics in the Advancement of a Disaster-Resilient Philippines”.
The entire quiz contest encompasses Qualifying Elimination Round, Qualifying Exhibition Round, and Final Round. All questions that will be asked came from the field of statistics, statistics-related sciences or disciplines, and applications of the said area.
