Entrepreneur Magazine’s Search for the Next Big Food Entrepreneur

Mercato Centrale became a festive evening last August 2, Friday, as the first phase of the search for the Next Big Food Entrepreneur, a contest by Entrepreneur Magazine of Summit Media, took place–gathering 65 young and eager participants in a food-tasting event where food samples were judged on-the-spot, based on their product’s uniqueness and originality, yumminess, presentation, and marketability.

Of the 65 entries, only 20 were selected to move on to the second phase, which is a two-month weekend food selling activity in Mercato and Soderno.

Together with Solane LPG and Mercato Centrale, Entrepreneur Magazine ran its second year of the Next Big Food Entrepreneur Challenge, to provide opportunities for aspiring food entrepreneurs and help them start their businesses through exposure, experience, and huge prizes from the contest–such as a cash prize worth P100,000 (tax free), a six-month rent-free stall in Mercato or Soderno, and a special feature in Summit Media’s Entrepreneur Magazine and Yummy Magazine.
