With almost everyone talking about the newest romantic indie film, Kita Kita, it’s not really a surprise that the film is now in its third week in cinemas!
Just last week, Kita Kita yet again proved that it should be at the top of your must-see films this month.
Erickson Raymundo from Spring Films announced through Instagram that the film has now earned PHP300 million, and is now the top grossing indie film in the country–a record previously held by Jerrold Tarrog’s Heneral Luna.
300 MILLION na ang Kita Kita! May himala! Totoong may himala! Naramdaman at kitang kita namin ang himala. Honestly our faith goal was to make 60-80 Million but if our movie will just hit 30 Million at the box office, we will still be happy. From 2 Million gross on our first day to 300 Million on our 3rd week, i dont how how you call it but for me it's definitely a miracle. Kita Kita is now the highest grossing independently produced movie in the Philippines. Maraming salamat Kabayan! Maraming salamat Panginoon. #KitaKita
Raymundo shares that it was truly a miracle–from earning only PHP2 million in its premiere, suddenly escalating to PHP300 million on its third week in cinemas! He even shares that their faith goal was only to make around 60-80 million and that even if they only made 30 million, they’d still be happy.
Talk about miracles indeed!
Kita Kita, which stars Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy, is still showing in theaters! So be sure to catch it and support local cinema!
