Okay, I admit it: I got a bit overly excited when I first saw these photos of Emma Stone as Batgirl in ‘Gotham City Sirens’, so I’m going to tell you straight up that NO, she has NOT been cast as Batgirl. What I saw was just a bit of fan art. I will say it again: THE PHOTOS I AM ABOUT TO SHARE ARE JUST FAN ART.
In fact, it hasn’t even been confirmed that Batgirl will be in ‘Gotham City Sirens’ (the upcoming spin-off to ‘Suicide Squad’, which will most likely feature a lot of Harley Quinn).
However, fans all over the world are rooting for Emma Stone to be cast as Batgirl if ever the situation arises.
So, because of this widespread love for Emma and Batgirl, fan art master Boss Logic decided to put his skills to the test and created this bit of fan art (again, THIS IS JUST FAN ART) of what she might look like as Batgirl – with the mask and without the mask:
I personally never would have envisioned Emma Stone as Batgirl, but I don’t think I would completely hate it if she ended up getting the role. To be honest, I’m just happy that the female DC characters are finally getting some recognition.
It has to be noted that Emma looks to be a bit too busy at the moment to be starring in any new superhero movies soon since her stint in the Andrew Garfield’s ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ movies, though. She still has a tennis movie coming out called ‘Battle of the Sexes’. Plus, she is set to play the role of Cruella De Vil in a new live-action movie of ‘101 Dalmations’.
However, if ‘Gotham City Sirens’ is still a while away, we can still hope for her to land a role in it. (Megan Fox apparently wants to play the role of Poison Ivy in it.
