It’s funny how a seemingly insignificant moment, a chance encounter perhaps, can turn someone’s life around. This is exactly what happened to Jay Isais, one of the owners of Egg-It Waffle Shop.
It all started when Jay and his friends decided to go on a street food adventure in Hong Kong. With the many varieties of food to choose from on the streets of Hong Kong, a long line of people leading to a stand selling funny-looking waffles caught Jay’s attention. Curious, he decided to see what all the hype was about and there, an idea was born. And as the popular saying goes, the rest is history.

A fairly new establishment that started just last February, Egg-It Waffle Shop has since become a weekend food trip favorite of people from all over the region, with customers coming in from as far as Quezon City and Bulacan just to have some of Egg-It’s one-of-a-kind waffles. With tons of positive reviews and even a feature on Kapuso mo, Jessica Soho to boot, we knew that just like that one eventful evening in Hong Kong, we had to see what all the hype was about.
At the corner of Sta. Rosa Street in Kapitolyo, Pasig, sits a cozy little shop that offers a one-of-a-kind dessert experience in the form of freshly- made ball waffles called eggettes. Egg-It Waffle Shop has brought these spherical pancakes, which are more commonly found in Hong Kong and Macau, to the Philippines and has reinvented them to suit the Filipino taste. Its characteristic egg-like shape makes it a distinct and enjoyable treat to munch on.
Egg-It is known for its sweet take on the popular food item. The warmth of the freshly-made waffle topped with a variety of sweet toppings is sure to hit the spot.
One of Egg-It’s best sellers is the Mango Caramel variety. The sweet-sour flavor of the mangoes goes hand-in-hand with the sweetness of the golden caramel drizzled all over the warm waffle, making it a satisfying snack or dessert to end your meals.
The 90-peso variety that Egg-It offers can be shared by 2 to 3 people, so you might want to bring your friends or family with you to make the food trip all the more enjoyable.

Thank goodness we came to visit after the creation of this wonderful piece. Smothered with Marshmallow Fluff crème and sprinkled with chocolate syrup, bits of chocolate and cocoa, the Fluff-iramisu will dance its way into your mouth. Topped with everything that’s right in the world, this sweet delicacy will shoot you right into the state of pure bliss.
Another one of Egg-It’s bestsellers is the Bananutella, which is, as you might have guessed, covered with slices of banana and coated with the signature nutty chocolate goodness of Nutella. You can add 20 pesos and enjoy all of the delicious goodness of two different flavors in one waffle.
And last but definitely not the least is Egg-It’s one and only (for now) savory flavor, the Black Pepper Spam with Cheese. Artfully drizzled with cheese, the secret to its deliciously peppery flavor lies in the chunks of Black Pepper Spam hidden in plain sight. Due to popular demand, other savory flavors are very close to working their way into the menu.
