Disney’s Full Cast of Rescue Dogs Absolutely Charm In The Live-Action ‘Lady and the Tramp’ Trailer

It would be difficult to find a soul who isn’t familiar with the classic love story between a scrappy dog and a privileged pup. Still, despite Lady and the Tramp pretty much being a universal story for all audiences the trailer still manages to excite and delight. And it has a lot do with their particularly compelling cast of real-life dogs, which really ups the adorable factor to an unbelievable amount.

(Meet the Rescue Dog Who Will Be Playing Tramp in Disney’s Live-Action Remake of ‘Lady and the Tramp’)

If you thought the original animated movie tugged at your heart strings enough already, then you just need a peek at a genuinely disappointed live-action Lady holding her leash in disappointment to break down into tears. While live-action remakes like Lion King and Dumbo have been getting a lot of criticism recently, it looks like a rendition with actual animals instead of CGI could be exactly what’s needed to retain that ever-elusive charm of animated films. At least, that’s what the sequences of this trailer seems to promise when giving off such a genuine and endearing vibe.

(OMG: ‘Lizzie McGuire’ is Getting a Sequel!!)

This feeling is only reinforced by the voice talents of Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux, taking up the roles of lady and the tramp respectively. Ashley Jensen (Ugly Betty), Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), Sam Elliott (A Star is Born) and Janelle Monáe round out the rest of the pups as Jackie, Bull, Trusty, and Peg. Kiersey Clemons (Scoob, Austin & Ally) will be playing Darling with Thomas Mann (Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl) as Dear and Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) as Aunt Sarah. It is directed by animator Charlie Bean.
